{"id":681,"date":"2020-07-15T17:42:35","date_gmt":"2020-07-16T03:42:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogsksbeedu.wpenginepowered.com\/kibrown\/?p=681"},"modified":"2020-07-15T17:42:35","modified_gmt":"2020-07-16T03:42:35","slug":"before-school-starts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/kibrown\/2020\/07\/15\/before-school-starts\/","title":{"rendered":"Before School Starts&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Here are a few things you could work on with your keiki:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Undressing and redressing self  as well as using the bathroom (including wiping) independently &#x1f9fb;<ul><li>Choose easy on\/off bottoms for keiki; elastic waistbands are best<\/li><li>Practice snaps and buckles if keiki wears those<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Practice opening and closing lunch containers and ziplock bags<\/li><li>Practice washing hands with soap and water for 20 seconds &#x1f932;&#x1f3fc; &#x1f9fc; (the length of the ABC song or Happy Birthday twice)<\/li><li>Practice bedtime and waking routines. &#x1f634; Make sure there&#8217;s enough time to wake up, get ready, and have breakfast before everyone goes to school. &#x1f3eb;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As for parents, you could practice packing lunches for your keiki so you get a feel for how much food to pack and what kinds of foods your keiki enjoys. And your keiki can practice eating healthy and nutritious food too!
