NASCAR developing out of the Prohibition Era of the 1920s, Title IX mandating equality between men\u2019s and women&#8217;s sports, and the \u201cMiracle on Ice\u201d in the 1980 Winter Olympics are just a few examples. We will be learning about different eras from Industrialism to the turn of the 20th to 21st century through the lens of sports events that illustrated and\/or reflected the socio-cultural temperature of the time. This course will be a reading and writing-intensive course that will strive to develop research, analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills through writing and discussion.<\/p>\n<p><b>A major research project will be completed to enhance these skills as well.<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>U.S. History through Sports [KHO3286] NEW!
