it&#8217;s the story of an escaped slave and her &#8220;lost&#8221; child; incredibly beautiful language and opportunity for critical analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Molokai-Alan-Brennert\/dp\/0312304358\/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1430429379&amp;sr=1-1&amp;keywords=molokai\"><em>Moloka&#8217;i <\/em><\/a>by Alan Brennert. <\/strong>This novel is a historical fiction about a girl who contracts Hansen&#8217;s disease and is forced to grow up on Kalaupapa; a very engaging storyline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Help-Kathryn-Stockett\/dp\/0425245136\/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1430429401&amp;sr=1-1&amp;keywords=The+help\">The Help <\/a><\/em>by Kathryn Stockett. <\/strong>I love the author&#8217;s use of voice and her ability to take you through a myriad of emotions in this novel.&nbsp; It&#8217;s the story of an African American maid set in the 1960&#8217;s in Jackson, Mississippi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Wuthering-Heights-Dover-Thrift-Editions\/dp\/0486292568\/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1430429421&amp;sr=1-1&amp;keywords=wuthering+heights\">Wuthering Heights <\/a><\/em>by Emily Bronte. <\/strong>One of my favorite literary classics; Maybe that&#8217;s the kind of perverted or maybe its just romantic and highly intelligent.&#8221; &#8211; <em>The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>T.S. The movie sucked. The book is pretty awesome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Jennifer-Government-Max-Barry\/dp\/1400030927\/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1430860307&amp;sr=1-1&amp;keywords=jennifer+government\">Jennifer Government <\/a><\/strong><\/em><strong>by Max Barry.<\/strong> I actually read this book in a grad school class.&nbsp; I thought it was going to be terrible but its super fun to read and entertaining.&nbsp; It&#8217;s clever, has a lot of action, and touches on issues of globalization and economic inequality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Clifford-Big-Red-Dog-8x8\/dp\/0545215781\/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&amp;qid=&amp;sr=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Clifford the Big Red Dog <\/a><\/em>by Norman Bridwell. <\/strong>A gripping tale of Clifford, a gigantic red dog, as he goes through his life journey seeking acceptance and finding his place in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><figure><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/khsenglish\/files\/2013\/05\/Beach2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-755\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/khsenglish\/files\/2013\/05\/Beach2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Beach2\"><\/a><\/figure><strong>Mr. Vinta <a href=\"mailto:alvinta@ksbe.edu\">alvinta@ksbe.edu<\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><br><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Hour-Dragon-Conan-Robert-Howard\/dp\/0399120963\/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1430860539&amp;sr=1-1&amp;keywords=hour+of+the+dragon\">Hour of the Dragon <\/a><\/strong><\/em><strong>by Robert E.
