<\/p>\nGrade 2 found out more about Maui at Kaiwikiloumoku.\u00a0 He called the wind and flew a kite!\u00a0 We could do that too—but it was a challenge.\u00a0 Did you see the story about Maui and the kite in the booklet that came home?\u00a0 The chant was in there too.\u00a0 This was a project between our classes of Science, PE and \u2018Olelo Mo\u2019omeheu on those special days we call La No\u2019ono\u2019o.\u00a0 We can look for new ways to make connections in our learning, with our friends and across our different subjects.<\/p>\n

We knew about how air worked with parachutes from science but kites seemed to be more complicated for us to make by ourselves.\u00a0 The good part was that we had directions, lots of time and could take things home to finish.\u00a0 We also had the energy to decide how much to run if the wind wasn\u2019t strong enough to lift our kite.\u00a0 Do you think Maui ran to fly his kite?<\/p>\n
