Book Fair Reminders

Aloha mai kākou,

Our Scholastic Book Fair is coming up 10/22-10/26.  The Book fair opens at 8:00am, and closes at 3:00pm- with the exception of the last day, we will close at 12:30pm on 10/26.  Parents may visit the fair with keiki between 2:30-3:00pm.

***Note:  we will have no plastic bags at the Book Fair this year.  Please have your keiki bring in a reusable bag on the day he/she will visit the fair.

Aside from their “Free Book,” haumāna may also bring cash/checks in for purchasing books.  Our book fair is not a fundraiser, as we are a non-profit organization; therefore, Kamehameha passes on the discount to all, which means that all purchases receive a 25% off of all items at our book fair. For your convenience we accept cash, credit cards and personal checks.  Be sure to make checks payable to Kamehameha Schools  (include your child’s name & room number at the bottom of the check, also sales tax is charged on every purchase).  Unfortunately we cannot give out change if the check amount is too large.

School Picture Taking Day – August 15

Aloha mai kākou,

School pictures will be taken on Wednesday, August 15th.  Information and picture packet order forms will also be sent home via your student (copy of the envelope is attached).  All students will be photographed individually, and as a group, even if you don’t wish to purchase any portrait packages as their pictures will be used for their school ID.

Sixth graders are asked to dress in aloha attire for picture taking.  Please be sure to refer to the 2018-2019 Student Parent Handbook for guidelines on appropriate aloha attire:  https://blogs.ksbe.edu/kes/files/2018/03/2018-2019-ES-Parent-and-Student-Handbook.pdf  All other students should wear their school uniforms.

If you are ordering pictures, please be sure that on picture taking day:

  1. Your child has their picture envelope completely filled out
  2. The exact amount for the portrait package is enclosed in the picture envelope
  3. Your child has the picture envelope with them on picture day

Make-ups and retakes will be taken on Friday, August 31st.  More information regarding retake day will be sent out as we get closer to that date.
