We’ve started with solving equations in one variable. There are two overarching ideas that govern equation solving:
- The order of operations
- Inverse operations
We’ve talked about two “new” operations that we’re including when solving equations:
- Radicals (using it as “Square Root Function”)
- To undo this operation, square (raise to the 2nd power) the square root.
- Absolute Value
- To undo this function, you will need to split and solve for both possibilities of the absolute value.
