Wow! \u00a0Wasn’t that a great Huaka’i Aloha ‘Aina? \u00a0I had a blast and I learned a lot, so I hope you did too. \u00a0Just one more week, then we have Spring Break. \u00a0Our goal this week is to finish the Land Legacy Project. \u00a0So, use your time wisely, and you won’t have to worry about homework during Spring Break. \u00a0Tomorrow I will be going to a technology conference in California, so you will have a substitute for the rest of this week. \u00a0Please be well-behaved and use your time wisely to work on your Land Legacy Project. \u00a0I will be taking my laptop with me, so if you have any questions, you can email me at kaalamid@ksbe.edu. \u00a0Here’s the tentative schedule for this cycle 19<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Day 1, Friday, Mar. 14, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n

Happy Birthday to Kailana and Elijah! \u00a0What an awesome breakfast buffet we had at the Volcano House! \u00a0I loved the astronomy show at the Imiloa Astronomy Center. \u00a0It reminded me of “Horton Hears a Who.” \u00a0We are a tiny speck in the universe.<\/p>\n

Day 2, Monday, Mar. 17, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n

Today is our last Math Olympics. \u00a0Good luck Mathletes! \u00a0If we have time, you may work on your group poster.<\/p>\n

Day 3, Tuesday, Mar. 18, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n

Today we will go over the Math Olympics Contest #5. \u00a0Then, you will have time to work on your land poster. \u00a0When you finish, double-check it and the substitute will take your pu’ulu picture with it. \u00a0If you’re not done with your poster by the end of class, give your planner to the substitute so you can get a “Late.”<\/p>\n

Day 5, Thursday, Mar. 20, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n

Today you will work on your essay rough draft. \u00a0Type it on Google docs, then revise it, and have at least 2 peers give comments. \u00a0Be sure that you share with 2 people so they can comment only.<\/p>\n

Homework<\/strong>: \u00a0Final essay, 2 copies, printed, 1 pg. \u00a0Due Day 6 (3\/21)<\/p>\n

Day 6, Friday, Mar. 21, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n

Today your project is due. \u00a0Put all 5 pages in order in a sheet protector and turn it in. \u00a0Be sure your IXL is done. \u00a0We will have shorter classes, because after lunch we are going to the KMS Health Fair. \u00a0Lunch recess will be at 2:15pm.<\/p>\n

NO HOMEWORK! \u00a0Enjoy your Spring Break! (Please do IXL at least once a week during Spring Break.)<\/strong><\/p>\n
