{"id":190,"date":"2014-02-03T09:21:38","date_gmt":"2014-02-03T19:21:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogsksbeedu.wpenginepowered.com\/kaalamid\/?p=190"},"modified":"2014-02-03T11:23:20","modified_gmt":"2014-02-03T21:23:20","slug":"gung-hee-fat-choy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/kaalamid\/2014\/02\/03\/gung-hee-fat-choy\/","title":{"rendered":"Gung Hee Fat Choy!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Chinese New Year! \u00a0This is a busy cycle with two Huaka&#8217;i rotations, parent-student-teacher conferences, Uncle Jin teaching us about homelessness in Hawai&#8217;i, and Mrs. Leong teaching us about native plants and animals. \u00a0I hope you all enjoyed your 3-day weekend and ordered your Huaka&#8217;i shirts. \u00a0On Feb. 5 and 6 we will be having our Huaka&#8217;i rotations at Ka&#8217;iwakilamoku. \u00a0Since we are finished with our 4 formal genealogy lessons, we will be learning about native Hawaiian food. \u00a0Don&#8217;t forget to turn in all of your Huaka&#8217;i permission forms by Feb. 7. \u00a0Here&#8217;s a tentative schedule for this cycle in Math. \u00a0I apologize that it&#8217;s late. \u00a0Last week was a very busy week. \u00a0Have a great cycle!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cycle 15:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 1, Tues., Jan. 28<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today we prepared our first semester reflections for parent conferences and checked our 7-1 and 7-2 homework.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Homework<\/strong>: \u00a0IXL-AA \u00a0(30 minutes and 2 skills mastered) \u00a0Due Day 6 (2\/7)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day ED, Wed., Jan. 29<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today you had Math with Ms. Cramer while I had the campus tour with Honuamea. \u00a0You checked the homework for 7-1 and 7-2 and learned about proportions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Homework<\/strong>: \u00a07-3 &amp; 7-4; Study for Checkpoint Quiz 1 \u00a0Due Day 2 (2\/3)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day ED, Thurs., Jan. 30<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today I passed back your Huaka&#8217;i Cost Project and passed out your current progress report. \u00a0We also doublechecked your reflections and evidence for parent conferences. \u00a0We then took the campus tour and I collected your genealogy packets.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Homework<\/strong>: \u00a01) Sign progress report \u00a0Due Day 2 (2\/3)<\/p>\n<p>2) Type Ko&#8217;u Mo&#8217;oku&#8217;auhau (with pictures\/graphics) \u00a0Due Day 5 (2\/6)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 2, Mon., Feb. 3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today I will check for the progress report signatures. \u00a0We will check 7-3 and 7-4. \u00a0Be sure to ask questions if you don&#8217;t understand, because we will be taking a quiz on 7-1 to 7-4 tomorrow. \u00a0I recommend that you do the odd problems in the book, because the answers are in the back of the book to practice for the quiz.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Homework<\/strong>: \u00a0Checkpoint Quiz 1-p.325 \u00a0 \u00a0Due Day 3 (2\/4)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 3, Tues., Feb. 4<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today we will check Checkpoint Quiz 1 and take the quiz. \u00a0We will learn about scale drawings, fractions, decimals, and percents.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Homework<\/strong>: \u00a07-5 &amp; 7-6 \u00a0Due Day 6 (2\/6)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 4, Wed., Feb. 5<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today there will be no Math class. \u00a0You will meet with the Honuamea teachers to learn about Astronomy, native Hawaiian birds, and Native Hawaiian plants and animals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No Homework! (from me)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 5, Thurs., Feb. 6<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today there will be no Math class. \u00a0You will meet with the Kulaiwi teachers to learn about ancient Hawaiian food, Big Island geography, and volcanoes. \u00a0Be sure you have your Ko&#8217;u Mo&#8217;oku&#8217;auhau typed and printed and ready to turn in. \u00a0We&#8217;ll be putting it in your Memory Book later.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Homework<\/strong>: \u00a0Memorize Ko&#8217;u Mo&#8217;oku&#8217;auhau \u00a0Due Cycle 16 Day 3 (2\/12)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 6, Fri., Feb. 7<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is Day 6, so please come to see me before school to get your planner signed. \u00a0Your IXL for Cycle 15 should be done by 7am. \u00a0If you haven&#8217;t turned in your Huaka&#8217;i forms, give them to your teacher today. \u00a0Mrs. Leong will be teaching us about native plants and animals. \u00a0Be ready in the atrium by 10:30am. \u00a0If you are in &#8216;Apuwai, the girls are cleaning the dining hall today. \u00a0No Math today, so we want everyone cycled out on Monday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Homework<\/strong>: \u00a0Get your planner signed \u00a0Due Cycle 16 Day 1 (2\/10)<\/p>\n<p>Extra pono points: \u00a0What is your Math goal for this semester and what have you done so far to work on it?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Chinese New Year!
