PAPA \u02bbALAKA\u02bbI<\/p><\/div>\n

#OTOD…One Team, One Dream! \u00a0Beginning on the first day of school, as 5th graders, we spoke of the importance of teamwork…What is a team? \u00a0What makes a good team? \u00a0What does each member contribute? \u00a0Who leads? Who follows? \u00a0When? \u00a0Does age make us alaka\u02bbi? \u00a0How do we collaborate? \u00a0Cooperate? \u00a0Innovate? How do we allow everyone a voice? \u00a0How do we serve? \u00a0What is our kuleana? \u00a0So many questions emerged as we voyaged on into the year to become one team! \u00a0As each new question and challenge was posed, the 5B FISH! ho\u02bbomau\u02bbd to learn, to seek the answers, worked together, all the while keeping in mind that \u201creal\u201d aloha was so important! \u00a0Culturally, alaka\u02bbi status is earned! \u00a0It \u201cfueled\u201d us to push to new heights!<\/p>\n

As the FISH! grew as a team, I witnessed \u00a0wonderful learning & a team on the verge of greatness…from students sharing at morning meeting-to leading it (FYI…I get tons of emails nightly from students sharing links, photos, mo\u02bbolelo, etc & explaining why its important that they share it w\/the team), being FISH!mates to learn each other at a \u201cdeep dive\u201d level, to jumping in to share mana\u02bbo to help a teammate understand during math, and even sending email reminders to complete homework to each other! \u00a0I\u02bbve seen team cheering as a member hits a genre goal, saw students \u201ccatch\u201d themselves to share aloha instead of steal aloha, saw students \u201cown\u201d poor choices, but have a plan to make better ones, & listened as they reflected on how far they\u02bbve come since August…as individuals, for the team! \u00a0I am blessed to see them share the support, the encouragement, the hugs, the laughter, & the love…Click on the videos (so many pics that documented the journey so far, it didn\u02bbt fit in one) to see how the 5B FISH! have worked together, to truly become one team! I proudly introduce you to Papa \u02bbAlaka\u02bbi…learning from our past, working hard in our present, to one day lead our world by sharing ALOHA in our future! E hana p\u016balu k\u0101kou! \u00a0Yes, Together, We CAN! \u00a0\u201cDive back into our FISH!bowl\u201d as we continue to swim strong to the end of the year! \u00a0#OTOD!<\/p>\n
