Kumu Roxanne Kala and myself, Kumu Pumehana Silva, have been blessed to have worked together for many years and now though we are in separate buildings, we continue to serve Pauahi’s pua. I am thankful for such wonderful friendships that have been developed here at Kamehameha and look forward to serving in a different capacity.<\/p>\n

Beginning the school year 2015 – 2016, I will be teaching the Papa Nohona Hawai\u2018i class. I look forward to assisting in building a strong kahua or foundation for our keiki here at the Kula Ha\u2018aha\u2018a. I come from a family of many teachers, both cultural practitioners and school teachers. My \u02bbohana comes from the moku of H\u0101m\u0101kua, from Kalop\u0101 to Waipi\u02bbo. I love this island of Hawai\u02bbi and my goal is to help our keiki build pilina (relationships) to their \u02bbohana, to their l\u0101hui, to their \u02bb\u0101ina, and to ke Akua. I strongly believe that Heavenly Father has guided each of us to where we are today and I pray that I will be able to serve both Him and the keiki well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
