Our pilina inquiries have taken us in many directions!
We are looking forward to the presentations on our campus Nohona Hawai`i In-Service Day (1.3.11).
Enjoy the Ola`a introduction from our Ola`a pilina group.
Our specials teachers had the opportunity to hear Sir Ken Robinson, the keynote speaker at the HAIS Schools of the Future Conference. Sir Ken emphasized the importance of the power of creativity for 21st century learners.
After the conference, teachers visited their Kapālama and Maui counterparts to discuss all of the fantastic (and very creative) work taking place in our schools!

Digital natives.
And I am hacking my way through the cyberspace jungle to get them. Intimidated? You bet! That jungle is thick and dark and seems to grow by the gigabyte hourly. Compelled! You bet!
Why? Those natives have been born into this jungle. They can make their way around. I may never fully speak their language but I am compelled to join, to converse, to learn to co-habit part of their space. I have some wisdom, some insight to offer- that they might actually learn from and through this jungle – that we might conquer new thickets together.
So, won’t you join me? Grab your machete (or mac, or iPhone perhaps) and let’s meet them. In the “jungle”, together, as twenty-first century learners.
Want a mangatar (that’s the cartoon that “looks” like me)? Go to http://faceyourmanga.com/ Have fun!
Will you please take five minutes to take this survey on how we can better meet your needs?
Mahalo!
