Papa ‘Ekolu students took a trip to downtown Hilo to visit the Farmers’ Market. Students are currently learning about the economy and were able to contribute to our economy by being consumers. They had a limited budget to buy items such as breads, fruits, vegetables, and more! In addition, students observed how the various vendors run their businesses. The students studied the way items were displayed, priced and packaged. This is in preparation for their own Market Day that is being held in February. It was an enjoyable day of outdoor learning!<\/p>\n
