Hoʻomaikaʻi to our two awesome Team 3B members, Tehani and Kāhili! They were honored today at the Hāweo Luncheon for demonstrating Mālama. These kind students take care of themselves and others by being responsible, helpful, respectful students to all.

Last week students created their very own blogs using their Google accounts and an app called Blogsy. Now the students will be able to share their daily thoughts, activities, learning and more with you and the world. If your keiki is in 3B, ask them to show with you their website address and feel free to comment back to them on one of their posts. Learning has never been more engaging and fun!
Though it was a short and busy week for the students in 3B, it was filled with lots of smiles and fun! We welcomed Dara back to school, took our school yearbook pictures, had an earthquake drill, created student blogs, visited and served ice cream to our Kinderbuddies, and had our first swimming lesson as 3rd graders with Mrs. Lee. Whew! Their teacher feels wiped out. Have a restful weekend!!!
Whoop, whoop! Our iPads are back into the hands of our keiki. Ms. Richardson and our new technology teacher, Ms. Galang, distributed the new red and black iPads to our anxious haumana this morning. Grade 3-5 teachers will meet with our curriculum coordinator, Ms. Rutherford, tomorrow to discuss the guidelines for taking home the iPads. Hopefully, the students will be able to show off their iPads to their ‘ohana by the end of next week. Check back here for more updates.
Papa ‘Ekolu students did an outstanding job creating and sharing their ME Boxes this week. We learned so much from the words, pictures and artifacts that were shared by each individual. Mahalo for doing quality work on this project!
I can’t believe another week of school has gone by already. Our class has learned a lot about each other through our Morning Meetings and numerous class activities. Next week we will begin our lessons on active literacy using non-fiction texts. In addition, we will continue our studies on place value and then move in to adding and subtracting larger numbers. Things are going to start getting busy, so have a restful weekend!

We all had a sweet treat to eat yesterday thanks to Dara. As always, Dara was so generous and thoughtful to give us all a goodie-goodie cup. Mahalo, Nagata ʻOhana for thinking of us.

What a wonderful day it was today! 3B finally had all of their team members present when Dara came to visit us in school. We actually got together with 3A and did a class activity called “Popcorn”. Dara went out to recess, had lunch with her classmates and even attended Music class. Everyone had a smile on their face as they hugged their wonderful friend that they’ve missed so dearly. We look forward to her return to school in September.
