IXL.com Requirement

Hey, Students! We will finish up our first Unit in Math next week. That means you will have an End-of-Unit Assessment to show what you have learned in math in the last couple of months. Here’s what you’ll be asked to do on the assessment:

* Add and subtract using strategies that were taught in class
* Show different combinations of numbers to get to 100.
* Show the value of numbers using Sheets, Strips, Singles (ie: Hundreds, Tens, and Ones)
* Write equations to show combinations of Sheets, Strips, Singles
* Write the value of numbers
* Write numbers in expanded, standard and word form (We will work on this next week M-Th)
* Identify numbers as odd or even
* Explain how you know a number is odd or even

Most of the skills and concepts listed above can be practiced on IXL.com. Focus on the categories of Numbers and Comparing, Place Value, Adding, and Subtracting. I am requiring that you master at least 5 skills in any of those categories by next week Friday, 9/30/11.

If you cannot access IXL.com from home, you are welcome to use our classroom computers before school, after school and at recess.

Study hard!
