Princess’s Ball

Papa ‘Ekolu honored their beloved Ke Ali’i Pauahi at their annual Princess’s Ball held at Nani Mau Gardens on Thursday, November 14, 2013. The day began with a stroll through the beautifully manicured gardens. Students learned in school that Pauahi loved flowers and often worked in her own garden even though she had professional gardeners to do the job. The students went on a scavenger hunt looking for specific items throughout the grounds.

The self-tour of the garden was followed by a delicious buffet outside on the lanai area. Students, teachers, parents and even our principal and headmaster enjoyed dining on chicken katsu, teri beef, and roast pork. A scrumptious cake was served at the end of our wonderful meal.

The haumāna showed off their dancing skills that they learned in music class with Mrs. Debus. The Kamehameha Waltz played as the keiki stepped, swayed and twirled around the dance floor. It was a splendid event to watch.

Pictures will be shared in an iMovie on our blog. Check back soon to see the highlights from the ball!

Mahalo to our parents Mrs. Bence, Mrs. Azevedo, and Ms. Aiona for helping to chaperone this event. We also appreciated the help of our other KS faculty members, Mrs. Debus, Mrs. Lee, Mrs. DeSa, and our awesome principal, Mrs. Kanehailua. Thank you, Dr. Stender, for joining in on our celebration!
