Huaka’i on October 30th

Papa ‘Ekolu will go on their first huaka’i of the year on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 to ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center of Hawai’i. Our day will include a trip to the Planetarium, Exhibition Hall, and Native Garden. The shows and tours will compliment our Earth Science learning objectives by helping us learn about Hawaiian and scientific beliefs, theories and practices related to Maunakea, the stars, and the world around us. In addition, we will have a look at a native Hawaiian ecosystem with a visit to ‘Imiloa’s Native Garden. We can guess that Princess Pauahi would have loved to take a stroll with us through this native plant landscape because she loved flowers and gardening.
