{"id":3951,"date":"2016-04-29T14:21:07","date_gmt":"2016-04-30T00:21:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogsksbeedu.wpenginepowered.com\/hes\/?p=3951"},"modified":"2016-04-29T14:21:07","modified_gmt":"2016-04-30T00:21:07","slug":"may-day-photos-are-here","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/hes\/2016\/04\/29\/may-day-photos-are-here\/","title":{"rendered":"May Day Photos Are Here!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mahalo Ke Akua for your warm sunshine this morning allowing us to hold our May Day program on our p\u0101 hula!<\/p>\n<p>Our keiki (and kumu) did a fabulous job as they took us on a huaka\u02bbi of, &#8220;Ku\u02bbu \u02bb\u0100ina Aloha &#8211; My Beloved Land, My Home&#8221;. \u00a0We started our huaka\u02bbi right here in Puna as our papa \u02bbeh\u0101 keiki performed, &#8220;Ke Ha\u02bba L\u0101 Puna&#8221;. \u00a0Papa \u02bbelua then shared &#8220;Ka Nani A\u02bbo Ka\u02bb\u016b&#8221;, journeying south to Ka\u02bb\u016b. \u00a0Our kumu took us to Kona with \u00a0&#8220;Kona Kai \u02bb\u014cpua&#8221; as they showed our keiki that they too can hula! \u00a0Our next stop was Kohala as papa \u02bbekolu performed, &#8220;Ka Inuwai &#8211; Maika\u02bbi Ka Makani O Kohala&#8221;. \u00a0Taking us to Waipo\u02bbo valley with their hula &#8220;Hi\u02bbilawe&#8221;, papa \u02bbekahi danced about the famous waterfall. \u00a0Papa m\u0101laa\u02bbo, dancing in their first May Day program, told their story about the wonderful places of Hilo in &#8220;Hilo Hula&#8221;. \u00a0Finally, papa alaka\u02bbi, our fifth graders, danced to &#8220;A Mauna Kea&#8221; and &#8220;Maluhia o Kea\u02bbau&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Mahalo to Kumu Silva for her hard work in assuring that all 256 students here at kula ha\u02bbaha\u02bba learned their hula AND performed it with joy this morning.<\/p>\n<p>Mahalo to Mrs. Chang, our science teacher, for taking photos that captured our day from beginning to end. \u00a0Click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icloud.com\/sharedalbum\/#B0H5fk75vJJy7b4\">here<\/a>\u00a0to check out the photos.<\/p>\n<p>E ko Kamehameha \u0113, \u02bbe\u014d, mai \u0113 !<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mahalo Ke Akua for your warm sunshine this morning allowing us to hold our May Day program on our p\u0101 hula!
