{"id":369,"date":"2010-10-18T11:02:45","date_gmt":"2010-10-18T21:02:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogsksbeedu.wpenginepowered.com\/hes\/?p=369"},"modified":"2010-10-18T11:13:18","modified_gmt":"2010-10-18T21:13:18","slug":"hais-conference-schools-of-the-future","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/hes\/2010\/10\/18\/hais-conference-schools-of-the-future\/","title":{"rendered":"HAIS Conference &#8211; Schools of the Future"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The specials teachers (Mrs. Debus, Mrs. Rosehill, Miss Chang, Kumu Crabbe, Mrs. Stack, Mrs. Lee, Kumu Kanani and Kumu Iaea, along with Mrs. Rutherford) were fortunate to attend this year&#8217;s Hawai&#8217;i Association of Independent Schools Conference 2010 entitled <em>Schools of the Future<\/em>. It was a unique opportunity for us and helped to support our firm belief that creativity is of utmost importance to the education of our children.<\/p>\n<p>Following the conference, we went to Mauna&#8217;ala to visit the tomb of our beloved princess, Pauahi. With the k\u014dkua of Kumu Crabbe we presented a ho\u02bbokupu of lei and pua in honor of our ali\u02bbi.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, specials met with their counterparts from Maui and Kap\u0101lama campuses. It was a wonderful exchange of mana\u02bbo and ways to strengthen our curriculum and focus. Following this visitation, we went to the Heritage Center at the Kamehameha Schools Chapel. Aunty Gussie Bento shared many insights about Pauahi and other ali\u02bbi as well as feather lei making.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a video of Sir Ken Robinson, our keynote speaker.
