{"id":237,"date":"2010-09-17T10:12:50","date_gmt":"2010-09-17T20:12:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogsksbeedu.wpenginepowered.com\/hes\/?p=237"},"modified":"2010-09-17T10:14:39","modified_gmt":"2010-09-17T20:14:39","slug":"na-maori-present-maui-tamatoa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/hes\/2010\/09\/17\/na-maori-present-maui-tamatoa\/","title":{"rendered":"N\u0101 Maori present M\u0101ui Tamatoa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Kia Ora!\u00a0 Grades 3-5 were blessed on Thursday, September 17th to attend a special Maori drama featuring a home schooled performing arts wh\u0101nau (\u02bbohana) from the North Island of Aotearoa. \u00a0The name of their group is Te K\u0101rito Kura W\u0101nanga.\u00a0 This high energy stage show of song, dance and story telling, depicted the super hero M\u0101ui lassoing the sun and his adventures of finding the sacred flame and maintaing the fire.\u00a0 Using Maori arts such as haka, poi and short and long r\u0101kau, the \u02bbohana, led by their mother Hinga, and their father, Lloyd, reinforced positive attributes such as positive goal setting, realizing one\u02bbs potential and leading a healthy lifestyle, Auahi-kore.\u00a0 The family of nine along with their stage director, Karen, were chaperoned by Ms. Keahi Kahiapo, mother of Jonah Kahiapo KSH \u02bb09 and Shola Kahiapo KSH \u02bb14. The program was preceded by a ho\u02bbokipa at Pauahi Lani Nui Administration Building.
