{"id":2233,"date":"2012-09-17T14:58:21","date_gmt":"2012-09-18T00:58:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogsksbeedu.wpenginepowered.com\/hes\/?p=2233"},"modified":"2012-09-19T09:41:13","modified_gmt":"2012-09-19T19:41:13","slug":"pinwheels-for-peace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/hes\/2012\/09\/17\/pinwheels-for-peace\/","title":{"rendered":"Pinwheels for Peace!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Have you seen all the pinwheels that are lined up along the main campus road?\u00a0 What a wonderful sight to see this morning as the Pinwheels for Peace were whirling in the wind.\u00a0 Mahalo to kula ha\u02bbaha\u02bba&#8217;s art teacher, Mrs. Tana Rosehill as she spearheaded another &#8220;peaceful&#8221; year as these hand made pinwheels adorn our campus\u00a0in honor of International Day of Peace (this Friday, Sept. 21).<\/p>\n<p>If you have a chance, look carefully at the pinwheels.\u00a0 They not only have artwork depicting peace, but they may have a phrase or wish for peace in our world.\u00a0 At our morning oli today, students shared what our world would look like if everyone truly cared for each other.\u00a0 One student commented, &#8220;if we care and love one another, there would not be any war and we would live in a peaceful world&#8221;.\u00a0 Our entire student body sang &#8220;Peace is the World Smiling&#8221; and were accompanied by the 5th graders on their xylophones, glockenspiels, metalaphones.\u00a0 It was awesome!<\/p>\n<p>A great big MAHALO to all of our parent volunteers who came in last week to assemble the pinwheels AND to all the parent volunteers who came in this past week-end to install the pinwheels along the roadways of campus.\u00a0 To quote a famous Beatle (John Lennon), &#8220;all we are saying&#8230;.is give peace a chance&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/hes\/files\/2012\/09\/photo.jpg\" class=\"wp_lightbox\" rel=\"post_2233\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-thumbnail wp-image-2235\" title=\"photo\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/hes\/files\/2012\/09\/photo-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/hes\/files\/2012\/09\/photo-row.jpg\" class=\"wp_lightbox\" rel=\"post_2233\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-thumbnail wp-image-2234\" title=\"photo row\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/hes\/files\/2012\/09\/photo-row-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Have you seen all the pinwheels that are lined up along the main campus road?\u00a0 What a wonderful sight to see this morning as the Pinwheels for Peace were whirling in the wind.\u00a0 Mahalo to kula ha\u02bbaha\u02bba&#8217;s art teacher, Mrs. Tana Rosehill as she spearheaded another &#8220;peaceful&#8221; year as these hand made pinwheels adorn our &#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":165,"featured_media":2234,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2233","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.8 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Pinwheels for Peace!
