Grade level teachers, along with Mrs. Brilhante and Mrs. Chang (and including some of our Literacy Instruction and Support teachers working in the DOE) attended an all day workshop last week. The presenter was Stephanie Harvey<\/a>, a very highly respected literacy specialist. Stephanie has worked with our teachers for three years now and will be back next year! One of her most well known books is Strategies that Work<\/a>, a book she co-authored with Anne Goudvis.<\/p>\n

Working with upper grade level teachers<\/p><\/div>\n

She worked with our teachers on “Active Literacy” using her toolkit<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Teachers got to ask her specific questions pertaining to their own instruction<\/p><\/div>\n

In addition to working with our teachers during the school day, she also presented at our weekly faculty meeting. We look forward to seeing her again next year.<\/p>\n
