Today, we picked more green beans from our garden. Aunty, “I don’t like beans.” A great way to introduce picky eaters to try new foods is to have them participate in the preparation. It doesn’t hurt to pair the new food with something that they like to eat too (rice and spam). All the children helped cut the beans and the spam for our fried rice snack tomorrow. The number of skills that children learn when they participate in cooking activities is amazing. They learn real life skills obviously, but also math (measuring), science (physical changes), and language (vocabulary).
