Seven years ago today, August 29, 2005, the deadliest and most destructive Hurricane Katrina in U.S. history hit the Louisiana area, particularly New Orleans. Many people were injured or died because of the hurricane. Homes, businesses, school and other structures were flooded or destroyed due to the overwhelming rain and high ocean waves that caused the levees to break and release tons of water into the city.
Today, Louisiana is facing that same challenge as Hurricane Isaac approaches the area. Millions of dollars were spent to make sure that the levees around the low laying cities are well structured and strong enough to hold off the destructive waters.
See below news videos about Hurricane Isaac. I keep those who are experiencing this natural disaster in my prayers as they evacuate and hope for the best.
