Notice anything different about the science class? Well, not only are the desks rearranged, but there’s a big new toy in the front of the room. Last Friday, an interactive whiteboard was installed. This new equipment will allow the students to become more involved with activities on the board as well as at their seats. Not only can they manipulate the board with a special pen up front, but also at their desks using a small tablet called a slate. Students will be able to play games and send in their opinions or votes using response clickers, little hand held devices that students can answer questions by texting their answers.
I think I’m more excited about all these gadgets than the kids. Wait till they start using them and they’ll be just as excited to participate.
