Aloha e 5A Students,
Today will be my first class with you for this school year. As usual, I like to start off the year with some reminders and introduction to science. This will include going through emergency drills, grading and homework policies, a room tour, and other new procedures. New procedures are Health Assistant, Notebook Assistant, and Journal Assistant. Health Assistant will be “purelling” (as I call it) students hands as they enter the room. The Notebook Assistant will be passing out the science lab notebooks and making sure that they are nicely organized at the end of class. The Journal Assistant will pass out our new Word Bank Journal when needed and make sure they are nicely organized at the end of class.
Classwork: We’ll be doing a quick KWL on the Solar System. This is our first trimester topic. On page 19 on your science notebook, please write the topic: solar system. Complete the following sections: K – what do you know about our solar system and W – what would you want to know about our solar system. This is due at the end of class.
