As the 3rd graders study the changes of the moon’s shape, they are modeling it in class as well. Using a lamp as the sun, their head as the earth and a foam ball as the moon, students rotate around to see how the shape of the moon changes. They are beginning to recognize crescent moons and gibbous moons. Check out the video of their activity.
