Remember safety first: we do not taste or eat anything in science, we protect our eyes and other senses when need be, parent permission and supervision is always a must.
Materials
Borax (can be purchased anywhere laundry detergent is sold)
Water
teaspoon
tablespoon
2 bowls
Tacky glue or Elmer’s white craft glue (Don’t use Sobo white glue for this project. Will not work.)
Food coloring
Procedures
1. Make a solution of 6 tablespoons of water and 1 teaspoon of borax. Mix the solution well.
2. In a separate bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of glue and 1 tablespoon or water. If you want colored gluep, add 1 or 2 drops of food coloring. Mix solution well.
3. Stir a just about 2 teaspoons of the borax solution into the glue-water solution. Continue stirring until the mixture gets thick.
4. Knead (massage) the gluep until it’s thick.
