Aloha e 3A Students,
Today we started our unit on the moon by completing a KWL on the moon. We then took some time to read a book called “What the Moon is Like” by Franklyn M. Branley. While I read the book, you listen for some interesting facts and ideas about the moon from the book. After reading part of the book, you were asked to Write and Draw in your science notebook about that interesting fact or idea.
With some extra time we tried a new activity to sharpen your observation and comparison skills. Using a a picture puzzle book, we tried to find in what ways were the same picture different. One picture had a subtle difference or change. I think you all did a great job, even managed to do a master level picture.
Classwork 1: Complete a KWL. Topic = The Moon, K = write anything you may know about the moon (words, pictures, people, etc.), W = write any questions you may about the moon and/or what would you want to know about the moon. This is due at the end of class. Click on the link for the worksheet.
Classwork 2: Complete the Write and Draw for an interesting fact or idea from the book we read. Click on the link for the worksheet.
