PERFORMANCE TASK

You and your ʻohana are giving hoʻokupu for Lonoikamakahiki.  Decide how many iʻa and kalo you would like to give to place in your pūʻolo.

Students will be able to use drawings, manipulatives, equations, etc. to represent their thinking. They will find the total number of iʻa and kalo per family member and the total number of iʻa and kalo for the entire ʻohana.

To Be Advanced: Student would use multiple strategies such as drawings, manipulatives, number bonds, and equations to solve problems. Student would use specific vocabulary to defend the solution such as “my tally marks and my number bonds make the same amount.”
