ANNOTATION

In the Self-Assessment, the student shows an understanding of success criteria by being able to self-assess their recording on the Performance Rubric and giving justifications in their written reflection.  They self-assess in Rhythm at “Pua/Achieving”, and write “I was able to maintain a steady and accurate rhythm.”

In the Self-Assessment, the student gives evidence of accurate self-assessment in the area of Tone.  The studentʻs justification in the written reflection is “I need to support my notes with more air.  In the recording, each individual note didnʻt feel full.  I need to work on giving more purpose to the notes.”

The performance improves from the first recording to the second, especially in the area of Tone, showing that the student was able to use feedback to make improvements.  The SmartMusic evaluations quantify this improvement with a score increase from 33% to 75%.

The second recording captures the studentʻs ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills as identified in the Performance Rubric.  The second SmartMusic evaluation supports that with a score of 75%.
