You have learned how to use My Plate and Dietary Guidelines to plan healthful meals and snacks. You have also learned about how to use food labels and the nutrition facts label to assess what is in the foods. You already know the kinds of foods your family and friends enjoy and you are a great mathematician. Now you can apply what you have learned to create the ultimate, nutritious, well balanced party menu for your kupuna. Happy Planning!

Plan and create/write a diet specific menu for your “Kupuna’s 50th Wedding Anniversary Party”. Include foods that can be part of a balanced diet and specific to the diet of those of their age group, low sodium, low
sugar. Then include one recipe and nutrition facts for low sodium recipe, low sugar recipe, and the recipe you decide to use for 100+ guests to share.

Written menu, accompanied by nutrition facts, recipes, and pictures used in your planning. Only provide the nutrition facts for one food in each of the five food groups on the matrix. Planning matrix and information, site all information found and written reflection.

Complete and print the final created, written menu with accompanied information to be shared with classmates/teacher/ parents. Complete a written reflection of the process.
