ANNOTATION

This is an example of proficiency because student identified a pattern as evidenced by quantative “5 out of 8 people that I surveyed have stepped on dog poop”.  The student analyzes the pattern as she connects it to impacts of the pattern:

  • It’s annoying to clean off
  • Tracking germs
  • Toxic to humans and other dogs

The analysis of pattern was clearly connected to the decision that was made to create a doggie poop station… “and because of this I decided to make a doggie doo pick up station”

This would have been an advanced if she recounted the results of her decision as it relates back to the pattern that she identified.  What would the impact of the station do to the park, the people, the community, etc… For example, “by installing the doogie doo pick up station, people would be able to enjoy being at the park without worrying about stepping on dog poop”.
