PERFORMANCE TASK

He Hawaiʻi Au – Hoʻolauna

Create a video recording to hōʻike how well you can present information about yourself.  The haumāna in Papa ʻElua have various opportunities to introduce themselves to various people and when they alakaʻi during morning Piko. Each grade level, starting with Kindergarten, adds to the introduction until their final year at KES. 

ANNOTATION

Task Completion

Student completes the task with ease, introducing her full name, her moku, her ahupuaʻa, and her parents.

Comprehensibility

Her speaking is easy to understand even when she is interrupted.

Fluency

Student’s speech is fluid with little or no pauses

Pronunciation

She says, “kāko” instead of “kākou,” but her communication is still clear.

Vocabulary

Student uses adequate set of vocabulary necessary to present about herself.

Control of her language use, more than ¾ correct
