PERFORMANCE TASK

Design and create a product that can catch some kind of food source such as an animal that works well and efficient.

ANNOTATION

Design

Refer to page 2 of work sample. Student brainstorm possible solutions and construction methods, evaluates the effectiveness of each and decides upon her top choice. Student submits a sketch of initial design. Her choice of materials was reflective of what natural materials were available around her home.

Testing

Refer to page 3 of work sample.  Student describes three different rounds of deliberate, iterative modifications to refine the design of the chicken trap.  Student provides justification and explanation for each of the three modifications with performance data (in “results”).
