{"id":235,"date":"2011-11-02T09:00:11","date_gmt":"2011-11-02T19:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogsksbeedu.wpenginepowered.com\/elhara\/?p=235"},"modified":"2011-12-05T09:30:54","modified_gmt":"2011-12-05T19:30:54","slug":"book-of-the-month-greg-tang-books","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/elhara\/2011\/11\/02\/book-of-the-month-greg-tang-books\/","title":{"rendered":"Book of the Month: Greg Tang Books"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This month I decided to focus not just on a particular book, but rather on an author.\u00a0 So this month we shall call it our &#8220;Author of the Month&#8221;.\u00a0 After much thought, I decided to showcase Greg Tang for several reasons.\u00a0 First these books can be found easily in our own kula library.\u00a0 Secondly, he is an author whose books are filled with colorful illustrations and catchy rhymes that help students remember key mathematical facts. \u00a0Lastly, his books teach math with a different approach and twist on looking at numbers with an eye on patterns and relationships.\u00a0 So let&#8217;s take a look at a few of his books!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_240\" style=\"width: 153px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/elhara\/files\/2011\/11\/grapes-of-math1.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-240\" class=\"size-full wp-image-240 \" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/elhara\/files\/2011\/11\/grapes-of-math1.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"143\" height=\"155\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-240\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Grapes of Math teaches students to be able to count in an efficient and creative way by organizing and simplifying information using patterns and symmetries.<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_241\" style=\"width: 151px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/elhara\/files\/2011\/11\/math-terpieces.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-241\" class=\"size-full wp-image-241  \" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/elhara\/files\/2011\/11\/math-terpieces.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"141\" height=\"156\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-241\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Math-terpieces helps children with their addtion and problem solving skills. This book also offers an introduction to art history.
