1\/13\/15"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/elcordei\/files\/2015\/01\/TTTthumbnail.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  alignleft wp-image-1699 \" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/elcordei\/files\/2015\/01\/TTTthumbnail.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"153\" height=\"98\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This week&#8217;s tidbit are tips for organizing student research using Google Docs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There are many different ways to organize research, but because the Google Research tool is just so awesome, using Google Docs is just a no brainer.\u00a0 The document below is a modification of this <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1ZbgQyG7P2dugb4Fc1S_u_qJEq59BjQ12ZhVhmFUaT2E\/edit\">document<\/a> via <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/newschooltech\">Mark Fijor<\/a> (view his presentation <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slideshare.net\/mfijor\/google-docs-and-the-co?next_slideshow=1\"><em>Google Docs and the Common Core<\/em><\/a>).<br \/>\nYou&#8217;ll notice in column 2 students <strong>insert the link<\/strong> to their reference as well as <strong>cite<\/strong> their reference.\u00a0 What this does is it organizes their research and their citations all in one place.\u00a0 Students can refer to the footnote when creating their Works Cited page for their products.<\/p>\n<p>Click <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1hmSODVRvnh5IaHWASZFj8xwQ7295L1Y1B2QpmDdtP9E\/edit?usp=sharing\">here<\/a> to view in Google Drive.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1hmSODVRvnh5IaHWASZFj8xwQ7295L1Y1B2QpmDdtP9E\/pub?embedded=true\" width=\"700\" height=\"800\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/rmbyrne\">Richard Byrne<\/a> of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.freetech4teachers.com\/\">Free Technology for Teachers<\/a> shared the video below on how to substitute the note card method of organizing research with Google Slides.\u00a0 While Google Scholar is available for citations, I prefer Google Documents over Slides because of the cite feature.\u00a0 This is not to take away from the method.\u00a0 I still think it&#8217;s fabulous!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Organize Research With Google Slides\" width=\"604\" height=\"340\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/unU150lirO4?start=153&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
