This being said, the curtain must be pulled apart under certain circumstances to expose wrongdoing and evil, especially if this evil comes from a person of power. Rendering the private free for all to see may be uncomfortable and may be embarrassing, but if ripping this curtain means exposing corruption or wrongdoing, the curtain-rippers should not be condemned as criminals, but hailed as heroes.

BODY PARAGRAPHS

Body Sample 1 (Qualification): Such is the case of Christopher Lee, married congressman with a child, who responded to a woman off of Craigslist with flirty messages and “sexy” pictures. He not only engaged in what appears to be an affair, but he also lied about his age, occupation, and marital status. Under these circumstances, Lee resigned from his position because of exploitation by the media. Though the woman associated did share information about their chatting, she is not to blame for she was unaware about his lying from the beginning. Lee set himself up to be exposed by knowingly taking the initiative to engage in conversation with her first. The public and private life was indeed turned into one but not by anyone other than Christopher Lee.

Body Sample 2 (Qualification): In a recent article form the Gawker website, a 34-year old woman revealed her internet encounter with a Republican Congressman of the District of New York, Christopher Lee. In this confrontation, the congressman sent compromising pictures to this woman, who later found out his real identity and sent the pictures and their exchanged messages to the media. Although her intentions were good (i.e. informing the world of a corrupted leader), she had no right to impose upon another person’s private life. People have a civil duty to expose such criminals, but they also have a duty to mankind to respect another’s privacy.

INTRODUCTIONS INTRO SAMPLE 1: Although all should have the right to a private life, when private matters can be detrimental to the public, “curtain-ripping” becomes necessary.
