Celebrate the power of words in National Poetry Month this April. Join us at the Charles Reed Bishop Learning Center on April 1st during lunch (11:45 pm-12:05 pm) to listen to open-mic performances. Bring your lunch, take a seat with friends, and enjoy the creative flow of poetry, songs, and heart. Whether reciting your favorite poem, jamming to your song, or cheering on your classmates, this event is about pilina, creativity, and having a good time. 8th Grade E Ola! Problem Solving, Innovation and Creativity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Papa ‘ewalu came to visit the high school learning center on January 26th and 27th with Kumu Kau’i Podlewski to discuss her life’s journey connected to E Ola! Learner Outcomes: Problem Solving, Innovation and Creativity. Kumu Kau’i gave her examples of how she continued her educational journey at Kamehameha Schools Maui and how she uses her innovation and creativity in her work at the Charles Reed Bishop Learning Center. She let the haum\u0101na know that she persevered to earn her associate’s degree through a pilot program with Kamehameha Schools and Leeward Community College, despite hardships in her life. Yet she continued to complete her bachelor’s and is now working on her master’s because the students at Kamehameha Schools inspire her to be better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

K\u012bpuka for Keali\u02bbi Pauahi<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After four years of collaboration with students and kumu at Kamehameha Schools Maui Campus, a k\u012bpuka is complete. Kumu Kau\u2019i Podlewski started this project in September 2022 to honor Ke Ali\u2019i Pauahi’s vision for Kamehameha Schools, and it was completed in November 2025. This k\u012bpuka symbolizes the three campuses that are embraced by Princess Pauahi\u2019s passion for educating her people. Mahalo to Kumu Ketra Arcas, Kumu Kui Gapero, Kumu Brook Holderbaum, Kumu Kahau Veincent, and the haum\u0101na from these classes for completing this long-term project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a collective, the librarians from Kamehameha Schools tri-campus have put together the Ola Pauahi libguide<\/a><\/strong> to inform, support, and defend Ke Ali\u02bbi Pauahi, her kauoha, and Hawai\u02bbi nei.  E k\u014dkua mai \u02bboukou! Share the libguide with the greater l\u0101hui Hawai\u02bbi as a means to strengthen this movement. During the SY 2025-2nd Semester, the Library Supports & Services haum\u0101na were tasked with creating a logo for the Charles Reed Bishop learning center. Congratulations to Shaila Robello-Delima\u02bbs (c\/o 2026) <\/em><\/strong>design that was chosen by a panel of judges as the official logo for the learning center. Each LSS haum\u0101na were given direct instruction for using Canva and Adobe Illustrator by Kumu Chauna Rickard (Instructional Technology-Senior Specialist).<\/em><\/strong> <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
