After presenting your introductory speech, please watch the video of your performance and:
1. Grade yourself according to the rubric (attached) and submit here.
2. Create a one-minute video journal discussing: how you feel about your performance and areas to work on for your next speech.

Create a 1-minute video sharing your thoughts about stage fright.

Upload the video you just created to your YouTube account. Make sure to:
-Set the Privacy Setting to UNLISTED.
-Copy the link YouTube provides, and submit it to GOOGLE CLASSROOM as a LINK for this assignment.

Poetry Out Loud Recitation

Speech students will be reciting a poem during the 4th quarter as part of the Poetry Out Loud program. Poems must be selected from the Poetry Out Loud website and are due on 10/28/15 for “A-day” students and on 11/4/15 for “B-day” students.

The same word count grading scale from last quarter’s poetry recitation will apply to this recitation:

For the highest grade of a C+ (79): 60-75 words
For the highest grade of a B- (82): 76-100 words
For the highest grade of a B+ (89): 101-125 words
For the highest grade of an A (95): 126-150 words
For the highest grade of an A+ (100): 151+ words

PERSUASION: Make a Commercial

For the last 2 classes of the quarter, students will be designing a new product and creating a commercial to persuade their classmates to buy it!

Their commercial must include at least 3 of the propaganda techniques listed on the handout.

Presentations will be on 10/1 for A day classes and 10/2 for B day classes.

Day 3 Homework

Work on memorizing your poem and answer the following questions based on our class discussion:
(Create a new document and use 3-5 complete sentences for each)
1. Who is the fictional speaker of your poem?
2. Who is the imaginary audience?
3. What is the setting (where & when)?
4. What is the mood of this work? How do you know?

Attach your document to the appropriate assignment in Google Classroom by next class: 9/16 for A; 9/17 for B.
