As with all stereotypes they are partially true but do not paint the complete picture of who we are as a people. We’re going to be looking at how Hollywood creates an image for people around the world about what “local people” are like. Stereotypes Of Locals:<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong>– Dark brown skin, dark hair, dark eyes\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

– Women in muumuu dresses with a hibiscus flower behind their ear, wearing leis\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

– Bigger than normal body frame for men and women<\/p>\n

– Big men playing little Ukuleles<\/p>\n

– Speaks Pidgin, English, and Hawaiian<\/p>\n

– Large families<\/p>\n

– Casual clothes, bare feet or flip flops; never tennis shoes<\/p>\n

– Hula dancers, fire dancers, big luaus<\/p>\n

– Welcoming and friendly, but sensitive to outsiders.<\/p>\n
