We’ve Gone LIVE!!!

Thursday marked a historical moment in 4A’s learning environment… We’ve gone live on Edmodo! Students have been using Edmodo in specials with Mrs. Chang and Ms. Richardson. Now they’re using it in 4A. We conducted two simple assignments, but more is on the way. Our first project in Edmodo will be a book club. We’ll read the book “Tuck Everlasting” by Natalie Babbitt. Students will have discussions with others in the class, turn in assignments, play and practice their skills with the different apps offered through Edmodo as well as take quizzes and instantly see their score!!

Check out these videos to learn a little more about Edmodo:

Read Your HEART Out!! Book It Program

The Book It reading program is all about turning kids who read because they have to into kids who read because they want to. Your keiki has the opportunity to earn Reading Award Certificates by meeting 4A’s monthly reading goals.

The Book it reading program began in October, but 4A is starting today! The Book It reading program runs from now until  March 31, 2013. For the next five months, 4A will be reading our heart out!!

We’ve set a goal of reading 100 minutes a week. Since we already read 20 minutes a day for 4 days, the additional 20 minutes can be done on Friday or the weekend. Our monthly goal is to read 400 minutes  a month.

At the end of each month, students will turn in their minute tracker sheet. They will need a parent signature to receive their Pizza hut reading reward certificate.

Please join us and encourage your keiki to read their heart out!
