Papa ‘ehā enjoyed our hands-on ahupua’a project that included the construction of a 3-dimensional typical windward ahupua’a model. This model became the focal point of their fictional mo’olelo. This means the plants, animals, and activities in their model where the characters or elements in their mo’olelo. In class, students spent time learning, creating, and writing about the ahupua’a.
Finally, fourth graders invited their ‘ohana for a hoike or a time show what they have learned. We started our with breakfast and invited everyone! Boy, was there a lot of ono food for all of us to eat and enjoy. Mahalo to the keikikāne ‘ohana for bringing breakfast!! Then it was show time. Check out our quick video to see everyone in action!!
