I completed my undergraduate degree at Michigan State University. I have a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics and a minor in music. I am certified to teach K-5 and 6-8 Mathematics. I have also earned my educational technology certificate and am a graduate of the Master of Arts in Educational Technology program at Michigan State University.
As I continue my teaching journey, I would like to broaden my horizons. One of my teaching goals has always been to teach somewhere new. I am originally from Rochester Hills, Michigan. Kamehameha Schools is my somewhere new! My hope is that this experience will help me grow as a teacher and open my eyes to many new ideas.
I have many hobbies which include dancing, running, music, and traveling. In October 2011, I ran my first marathon. In the summer of 2013, I completed my first two triathlons (one being the Tinman in Honolulu). I love all types of music and can play many different instruments. I was a member of the Spartan Marching Band during college, which was a great learning experience. But, most of all, I love kids and I love learning! When I teach, I am doing what I love.
