Human Right # and Description<\/td>\nViolation Scenario<\/td>\nAdvocacy<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#1 We are all born free and equal.<\/td>\nWhen I was eating lunch with my friends, a boy wanted to sit by us, but my friends said he wasn\u2019t smart enough to eat with us.<\/td>\nI went to sit by the boy and eat lunch with him.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#2\u00a0 Don\u2019t discriminate.<\/td>\nSomeone teased me about the church I attend.<\/td>\nI said that I can believe in what I choose, and so can they.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#3\u00a0 The right to life.<\/td>\nI saw some people hurting two girls at recess.<\/td>\nI took them to safety and had the nurse help them.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#4 No slavery.<\/td>\nA student was forcing another to do their school work.<\/td>\nI told the teacher and she stopped it.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#5 No torture.<\/td>\nA friend was trying to force me to dance at the dance.<\/td>\nI told them that dancing was torture to me, and they stopped.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#6 You have rights no matter where you go.<\/td>\nA new student is being treated badly.<\/td>\nI stick up for my new friend and roast them back.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#7 We are all equal before the law.<\/td>\nPolice are treating people differently, based upon their skin color.<\/td>\nI can be part of a peaceful protest against bad police.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#8 Your human rights are protected by law.<\/td>\nI was at home and my dad was hurting my mom.<\/td>\nI called 911.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#9 No unfair detainment.<\/td>\nMy friend has detention, but the teacher didn\u2019t know the real story.<\/td>\nI spoke to the teacher, and she apologized to the student for making a mistake.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#10 The right to trial.<\/td>\nMy friend was trying to defend himself, but the teacher was not listening to him.<\/td>\nWhen the teacher was in a better mood, I went to talk to her and she agreed to listen to the student this time.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#11 We\u2019re all innocent until proven guilty.<\/td>\nFun Factory said some people stole from them and so Mrs. Nishikawa had to talk to many students.<\/td>\nI told the truth about myself and about others.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#12 The right to privacy.<\/td>\nMy brother is always poking into my business and into my room.<\/td>\nI can tell him to stop, tell him to get out, and tell my mom.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#13 Freedom to move.<\/td>\nPresident Trump is saying that the Dreamers have to go back.<\/td>\nI can sign a petition that protects the rights of the Dreamers.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#14 The right to seek a safe place to live.<\/td>\nMy friend\u2019s family was stuck in a dangerous neighborhood.<\/td>\nI asked my parents to help them to find a safer place to live.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
