This is it! Less than two weeks of school remain \u2014 but the boys of Nae’ole Hale are still working hard\u00a0in school and enjoying their free time on the weekends.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, May 5, boarders and day students were treated to a special panel discussion featuring UH student athletes at Kalama Dining Hall from 7 to 8 p.m. Dyrbe Enos<\/strong> (2012 graduate of Kamehameha Kapalama and current men’s basketball player), Tiana Fujimoto<\/strong> (women’s soccer), Hi’ilawe Huddleston<\/strong> (sand volleyball), Destiny King<\/strong> (women’s basketball), and Kory Rasmussen<\/strong> (2012 graduate of Kamehameha Kapalama and current football player) graciously shared their time with the middle school students, as current HPD officer and men’s basketball commentator Kawika Hallums moderated the event. Saturday,\u00a0May 9 and Sunday, May 10<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Saturday started bright and early as the boys prepared for a day of community service on the North Shore. After 7:45 a.m. breakfast at Akahi, we made the long trek to Hale’iwa to malama the Loko Ea fishpond. The boys enjoyed this rare cultural site and worked hard to help preserve it. This area is traditionally known for its profusion of fresh water springs.<\/p>\n

\"IMG_2101\"<\/a>\u00a0\"IMG_2102\"<\/a>\u00a0\"IMG_2103\"<\/a><\/p>\n

After a morning of hard work in the sun, the boarders were treated to lunch and a day at the beach. By 3:30 p.m., it was time to go home and few boys made it through the trek from Hale’iwa to Kapalama without taking a snooze. We took Saturday evening easy \u2014 as we watched the State baseball playoffs and a busload of boys spent an hour at KamShop.<\/p>\n

Sunday gave way to its normal routine; chapel in the morning, then brunch, KamShop around lunchtime, Keawe in the afternoon, dinner around 5, and study hall and dorm cleaning. All in all, it was a great weekend. Only one weekend left!<\/p>\n
