April 5th: Students continued the project of creating egg-plants by planting seeds in the egg shells.
Step 1: Choose a type of plant that you would like to grow.

Step 2: Fill egg shell with soil. Our mix includes vermicompost and potting soil.
Step 3: Plant a seed…depending on what you are growing the depth that you plant the seed varies. For example corn will need to have a depth of 1″ where as lettuce will need 1/4″. Kawai is placing her seed in the egg shell below and then generously watering it. The soil should feel like a wet sponge when correctly watered.

Be sure to use a toothpick to puncture a drainage hole at the bottom of the egg and you are all pau!
Kaulana is creating her own little edible garden to take home and care for.
