SSC is proud to present AVATAR. This blockbuster film touches on important points regarding natural resources and indigenous peopleʻs rights in a fantasy setting. Explore the parallels of APEC and native Hawaiian rights! Please be prompt and understand that we will be breaking the movie up into two parts. Part I on Novemeber 8th and Part II on November 9th during your lunch period (10:35-11:15 or 11:25-12:05). The first 20 participants to sign up will receive lunch. This is an organization that aims to empower youth to fight for the future of their climate. Check it out this weekend- if I wasn’t in a retreat I’d be there!!!!

Please feel free to post your mana’o about how your experience this past year at the SSC has been. Just to briefly reflect, our services have included tutoring services, service learning projects (Bead for Life, Stone Soup, Monthly Movies, Earth Day event) and general TLC.

So some people have asked…what’s next? You tell me!!!!

MAHALO to all of those who helped make our Earth day event a huge success! Nikki Oka and Olana Chow are gems and have set the bar high for those to follow in their green footprints. Please visit the gallery to see pictures from the event and feel free to keep in touch about your little keiki (the plant). Volunteer to be apart of our team next year!
