This year’s 12 team tournament will feature some local Maui Interscholastic League teams but the showcase is on the teams from the mainland and O’ahu. August 15, 16, and 17 at the Kamehameha School Maui campus in Pukalani will host this years biggest Girls High School Volleyball Tournament on Maui.
Granburry High School join us from the great state of Texas as well as from Santa Barbara California, Laguna Blanca will be participating for the 3rd year in a row. Along with the mainland teams, 4 off island schools are competing as well. From the OIA, Castle High School makes a return trip after their 3rd place tournament finish last year and a Div. I 7th place State Finish. Joining Castle will be McKinley High School of Honolulu and Kapolei High School on the west side of O’ahu. Usually heavy with ILH teams, this years volleyball invitational welcomes Maryknoll School of Honolulu which makes the trip for this pre season tournament.
From the MIL, 2012 Div. II State Runner Up Seabury Hall, Maui High, 2012 Div. I state qualifier King Kekaulike join 2 Kamehameha Maui teams to round out the 12 team tournament. All matches are played at the Kamehameha Maui High School Ka’ulaheanuiokamoku gym.
The action begins on Thursday Aug 16 and Friday Aug 17 with the first pool play match at 3:30pm and the last one scheduled at 8:00pm. Saturday August 18 holds two tournaments, Ho’oikaika from 9am-noon and Ikaika division from noon-3pm.
Admissions is $5 for adults and students with out Athletic Cards, $4 for Military and Senior Citizens, $3 for children 8 yrs and under as well as students from non-participating schools with athletic cards, and free for students from participating schools with athletic card.
