The book I read is a heart breaking novel. A young girl’s mother verbally abuses her through her childhood. It is a book where you don’t know what is coming next and that’s what makes it a MUST READ NOVEL! It’s like everything is going good with her life and then BOOM! Everything turns around on her. All her hard work goes to waste. Will Hope get any justice from her mom? You just need to find out on your own by reading my novel Call me Hope.

The book that I chose to read is Chicken Soup for the Preteen Soul. I chose this book because it would help me bond with my family and make more freinds not only in school but outside to. When I saw this book I started to think that it must be a very good book because it was given the #1 New York Times Best selling author. Another thing that caught my attention is the word PRETEEN on the cover page. It was made in a big font and had a different color than the rest of the words. The thing that I recognized right after I read title is that I am a Preteen. So i’m hoping that this book will do me good.

My Book is called Spooky Tales 4. That already wants me to read that book. I chose this book because I like scary types of books. Plus the stories in the book are all real stories. So that even makes it more scary. There are a line of these Spooky Tale Books, I think these books go all the way up to 5 or 6. These books are packed with skin crawling, cold sweat, heart wrenching stories. OK probably not that scary but see for yourself if your not SCARED…

I chose the novel CRASH! because the title catches your eye. I also thought it looked funny because on the cover there was a baby smiling with a mustache drawn over his upper lip and he is dreaming about being a football player. This book is written by Newbery medalist Jerry Spinelli. He seemes to be a great author because he won the Newbery prize. This is the book for me because I like funny stories with a moral and that’s exactly what this book has. This book might be the one!

One reason I chose Among the Hidden was because I thought it was an interesting book. I read Sara’s blog on the other page, and it sounded very interesting. I then asked her if it was really a book worth reading. She sed “Oh yes!” So, I decided to read it. I also decided to read it because I went to the library and read the paragraph on the back about the book. One last thing that made me read this book is that the title sound very interesting. “Among the Hidden” it sounds mysterous but exciting. This book so far, is a real good book!!!!

“SILVERFIN, A JAMES BOND ADVENTURE”, is written by: Charlie Higson. This book stood out to me because I love adventure books. This book is thrilling to me because when I read the back it made me excited. I asked my mom if I could have the book and she said YES!!!! This book is so worth reading because even though its long it has great details and I like how it begins. It begins “The boy crept up to the fence and looked around. There was a familiar sign KEEP OUT! PRIVATE PROPERTY TRESSPASSERS WILL BE SHOT!!!!!!!!!!” When I read this I knew I was going to be the one to read this book and it will be worth reading!!!!

The novel I chose is called Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. It is a book I borrowed from the CRBLC. I chose this novel because I’ve read books by Gary Paulsen before and they pretty much inspired me. I’ve also heard of good books by him such as Tracker. I’ve heard about this book and people have told me that the book was about a boy who gets stranded in the wild for a number of days and the onlt thing he has to survive with is a hatchet.I promise you that I’ve never read this novel before. This novel happened to be “THE ONE” because it met the requirements and I’m the adventurous, outdoor kind of guy. So I hope this book is fantastic!

The novel that I chose is called, Don’t Look Behind You. I chose this novel because I like mystery books. When I saw the title, it really sounded like a mystery novel. This novel stood out to me because I needed a book for my April novel. I walked around the shelf in the library, and that red title caught my eye. The words Don’t Look Behind You in all capital letters. This novel is the one because when I saw it, I picked up the book and scanned it. I read the back. It didn’t really relate to the title. The picture looked like a thief just grabbing someone’s hand. Their is probably a little twist to this book. I think that when I get more into the middle of the book, this will all make sense. How does giving up April’s name relate to a thief grabbing someone’s arm??? Well I will find out soon!!! What makes this novel worth reading is that the title, Don’t Look Behind You makes you want to know why you can’t look behind???

The reason that I chose the book “The Wish List” by Eoin Colfer is because
Eoin Colfer is the brilliant author who wrote the Artemis Fowl series and The Supernaturalist. Those books were some of my all time favorites. I saw that Eion wrote this book and I just had to read it. Plus, it takes place in Ireland. My great-grandfather was 100% Irish. His family was from County Kent. I hope that I will get to know more about Ireland and maybe my heritage, by reading this book. When I read the back cover of this book, I knew that it would be a great adventure, interesting to read and my kind of story.

I chose this adventurist book, ” Everest” because this is the most intense book ever! It has dangerous snow storms, the height of danger, and this trip can take you to a point where your risking your life. When I was reading the first three chapters it made me feel like I was there. Just imagine if you were climbing Mt. Everest. Im just a sucker for mystery, adventurist, fairy tale books. They just make me want to read it over and over again. Once I saw the book cover I knew it would make me feel more in touch with the story and make me read the Book.
Sneak Peak: Four kids climbing to Mt. Everest. But their very low on supplies, conditions are getting more and more extreme! One rotten kid in the trip is trying to sabotage everyone else. This is the reason why I’m reading this book in the first place, because its so intense!

I chose this novel because I was always intrested in comic books. I also chose it because it had over 150 pages and because it had the 2 most famous super heroes of all time in one book that had numerous different stories about them and they teamed up together to fight crime. It stood out to me because it had Superman and Batman on the cover and because it was never checked-out of the library by any one before so I guessed it was new. It is worth reading because when you read it it is very adventures so it feels like you are fighting crime alongside them. I think this novel is “THE ONE” because when you read it you feel the feelings that are 2 famous super heros feel while they are fighting crime.

“Princess in Waiting” by Meg Cabot is the book I’m going to read. It stood out and its worth reading because I read “Princess in the Spotlight” volume 4 last month so now I want to read volume 5. This novel is the one because I felt like I was totally dragged into the book on my last novel so I decided to read the next volume. Hhmm, I wonder what makes a good book stand out. Is it the awards it receives, editor WHAT? Well my book POPPED right in front of me. As I was strolling through the library the book happened to catch my eye. Not with its fancy spine or anything but its title, “Cracker.” When I hear “Cracker” I think of the food cracker. But as I slowly grasp its spine I see on the cover . . . a dog. Thinking to my self I am like “what in the world?! A book named cracker, with a dog on the cover. How does it connect? Does the dog eat crackers? But I do like dogs.” Then after that I see the author, and it happened to be a local author. So this book is about a dog, crackers, and has a local author, already to good things. When I start reading the dogs name is Cracker. I love dogs; the author is local and new, why not trying to read this book! So that’s why “Cracker” is a good book to me.

For my April novel I chose California Blue by David Klass.I chose this novel because the illustration on the front cover is a chainsaw with a butterfly over the top of it and it kind of looks like mystery book and I REALLY like Mystery Books!Well what makes this book worth reading would have to be the story. The story is about a boy named John and how his father works at the lumber mill well most of the people in the town work there.Anywho the Lumber Mill releases this really bad smoke into the air and the smoke suffocates the butterflys that fly around in the town.See John loves butterflys and hates to hear that the company that his Dad works at is hearting them,so its up to John to either save the insects he love or save the company that pays his dad to put food on the table for him and his mom!!Now you can see why i say this book is the One!!

For my April novel I choose an interesting book called “Zen and the art of faking it”. I came upon this book by accident… I was looking for another book in the library when I came across this book… The title really caught my eye; I have never seen a title nor cover like this. The cover had a young boy doing a handstand with a couple basketballs near him. The title had me wondering what this book was about. I couldn’t help but to read the back of the book to find out what this book was about. The key themes of this novel were Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie. These themes seemed very interesting because not a lot of authors write about dangerous pie and drums! So I opened the book and started to read the first page… As I read I felt like I was this person (the main character), I was in the book; this was my life. The main character in this book kept switching schools just when he felt comfortable. He talked about how hard it was to make friends and almost everything he said I related to. So I decided that this wonderful book should be my April novel.

Seven Day Magic By:Edward Eager
This book caught my eye because of the title. It was interesting, and there was a dragon with green eyes and a puff of PURPLE smoke coming out of it’s nose, with a character in it’s claws on the front cover. I wanted to read more after I read the back. It told me about a girl named Susan who opens a strange book from the library. She finds out it is about her and her friends lives until she opens the book. The pages beyond that were BLANK. Thats when I knew this book would be filled with MAGICAL adventures!

I choose this book “Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH” by Robert C. O’Brien because when I was reading the back of this book, I read that one of this mother rats son named “Timothy”, is Ill. Timothy has Pneumonia. I think that this book is worth reading because as I read this book I want to find out if Timothy does away from Pneumonia or still has it. Something that stood out to me was, that poor thing the little rat has Pneumonia and, I wonder if Timothy would survive or not. The mother rat who is a widow, with four children, needs to protect her children because they have to move immediately to their summer quarters. If not some of the rats might not make it out alive, which is really sad because their mother loves them very much, and she would be sad to see one of your children leave forever.

The first thing that made this book called The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Salznick so irresistible was that the cover looks like a fantastic adventure. A city under a full moon lighting the night sky. At the top is shinny large brass circle occupied with all sorts of wheel, cranks, and gizmos. In the center there is a keyhole for what lies in the brass object I will have to find out. Then when I opened the cover I found that this book was more like a movie. More than 300out 526 of the pages where dedicated to pictures. I found this extremely amazing and found my self deeply wanting to read it right away which I did. Sadly this book only lasted an hour due to the great quantity of the pages with picture. But beside te shortness of the book I think that this book was one of the most flowing easy to follow book I have ever read. The picture also make it almost seem like a movie. This book is worth reading every word.

The book that I am starting to read is what my mother doesn’t know by Sonya Sones. I chose this novel because the title somehow got my attention. When I first looked at this book I wanted to find out what her mother does not know and what makes this novel so mysterious. I like this book because in some parts of the book it will have little tips about things that you are going to have to go through when you get older but the tricky part is you have to read really careful and try and find the tip. This novel is the one for the reason of this book is not just a book but it is telling a story and perhaps you might be the girl in this story one day.

The novel I am reading is called “The Giver” by Louis Lowry. Itʻs truly a mystery. This novel is by far, thee most addictive book that Iʻve ever read. You think youʻll know what will happen next, but you really donʻt. NOTHING about this novel seems as if it is real. Nearly every sentence written draws a clear picture in your head of what is happening in the novel. It seems as if youʻre actually there. This novel is highly recommended to those who love solving puzzles. The Giver has received its Newberry Award for being thee most electrifying novel EVER written.

The novel that I am reading for the month of April is Peter Pan in Scarlet by Geraldine McCaughrean. Now the reason that I am reading this novel is one it meats the amount of pages that i am supposed to read, but most of all because it’s a classic tale! Also because this Peter Pan story is a different from the rest of all the stories and the movie because it’s part of a series of Peter Pan books that are all too great. What makes this novel worth reading for the month of April is the many epic adventures that Peter and his friends always have together in Neverland. Why is this book THE ONE? Well the reason is is because Peter Pan tales are so imaginable, adventuress , great fun and they make you feel like your really with Peter Pan in Neverlands, just like Wendy and her brothers did! In all the book is really great so far!

“Things You Either Hate Or Love,” caught my eye because the title is different, yet basic. It tells you it may be a comedy, realistic fiction, or a simple young adult book. Especially when it starts off with a girl Georgia saying, “I live in a town called Anywhere that has too many shopping malls and not enough skate parks.” Simple, though interesting. I didn’t want a horror, mysterious, too romantic book. Naturally, i’d want a book with a cover of a, “mad haired girl,” dancing and other things you either hate or love!

My book I chose is called “Reaching for sun”. This book is a novel told with poems just like Out of the Dust. I chose a book with poems because I thought Out of the Dust was a really good book so I wanted to see if this book would be the same. Also, because everybody is saying that the girl on the front of the book looks like me, so I wanted to see if our lives could be the same.

The novel I chose is called The Big Field, by Mike Lupica. The reason I picked this book is because I read the other books Mike Lupica wrote like Heat, and Travel Team, and I really enjoyed them. I think its worth reading because when you read his books you feel as if you are in the story with the characters. It also stood out to me because I like sport books, and I know what they talk about when they say diffrent positions and diffrent plays. This is the one book for me because I know that I will be able to now the story even though I never read it before. I know this is the book for me.

The novel Kissing Doorknobs by Terry Spencer Hesser stood out to me because of the title. It’s not everyday you come across a title that interesting. It just made me want to know more about this book. Also the cover page pulled me into this book because it is colorful and had pictures of kisses, hands, and doorknobs. To me this novel is worth reading because it’s about a girl named Tara that has a compulsive disorder all from a phrase that was step on a crack, brake your mothers back. I never did read a book this intense. Im very happy I found a humorous, compelling, and sensitive story!

I chose the novel The Promises to the Dead because the title sounded very intresting and it got my full attention. So I took the book off of the shelf and then I seen the cover and it looked like it was going to be a thriller filled with action and suspence. The cover was a picture of a two boys trying to run away from something. That made really interested so I took a look inside of the book to find out what the story was about and I found out that it was about a boy who made a promise to a dying slave to take her son to a relative in Baltimore, and abetting a slave was against the law, so they are runing away on a dangores adventure to freedom. After I read that summary, I already made up my mind and chose this book as my April novel.

The book I chose is Ulysses moore: The Door To Time. What really stood out to me was the cover, because it has three kids running on a map hanging on a door. I also chose this book because reading the back and the first couple of pages, it sounds very interesting. plus the illustrations are really cool. I chose the book A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Slippery Slope, because I saw the movie, but I know that the movie doesnʻt really tell all the details. I also chose this book because I didnʻt remember the movie having this part, and it looked like a interesting book. This book stood out to me because I LOVE mystery books, and whenever I read one of these books, I always get lost in them and I always loose track of time. I think this novel is “THE ONE” because I really donʻt think Iʻll abandon this book. I say that because usually I get into a book, but then I just loose interest in it towards the middle. I donʻt think itʻs gonna be like that this time around!!:].

My April novel I chose is “The Perfect Man”. Why did I choose to read this book?..I chose to read this story because I had seen the movie, and wanted to see how they would relate. Although, that isn’t the only reason why I chose this book. While I read the back of the book and the first sentence explained how Holly (the main character) had difficulties adjusting to all the new changes she had (moving), whenever her mother would have a peresonal meltdown. Since I have already seen the movie, I would still like to read the story because I always find it intresting to see how she deals with her problems and how she tries to help her mom find “The Perefect Man”.

I am reading the novel “Because of Winn-Dixie.” I chose this novel because I like dogs and hope to get one soon. This book stood out because I got the book from “Santa.” I also read another story by the same author. Kate DiCamillo also wrote the book “The Tale of Desperaux.” I like the way she adds excitement to the story. This book is worth reading because it’s better than the movie. The author puts images into my head with her amazing words. Kate DiCamillo won a Newbery Honor for this book and awards for many other books too. If you like animals and award winning books, this book is THE ONE!!!

My novel is A Thousand Pieces of Gold. I chose this book because it is a not like any other book you read (i.e. fantasy, fiction, mystery, history and science fiction) it tell China’s past through its proverbs or wise sayings. As you read she explains about each proverb but gives you a sense that you have to find out what it means. Adeline Yen Mah tell of each proverb and how it can be put into your own life. Finally I think this novel could be the one because as we uncover each proverb it delivers us into past live that were held in most importance.

The book I’m reading for April novel is Chinese Cinderella. This book stood out to me because everyone said that it was a good book. So I thought that I should try to read this book. This book is worth reading because it is a sad, betrayal book about a family. Adeline Yen Mah was treated like she wasn’t worthy to be part of her family and her younger brother and sister were higher rank then her in her family. This novel is the one because it is a great autobiography about a young girl and her family that don’t care about anything that goes on in her life.

When 3 orphans try to mysteriously look for their friends with a whole village watching over them and a sworn enemy that is a family member. It will stop your heart beat for maybe a second or two but if your looking for happy, “dandy” book well this one is definetly NOT right for you. This book is called ” A Series of Unfortunate Events The Vile Village”.

I think that this book stood out to me because i had this weird feeling for this little boy who got abused over the years of his life. I think that my parrents really loved me, because they could treat me like a piece of doodoo, but they dont! that’s why i always wondered why the little boy’s mother has treated him the way she did. I think that the little boy did not tell annyone about his life, because mother threatened to kill him if he did. when i read this book, all you can see on my face is a little tear rolling on the side of my face. But when the little boy revealed his secret about him and mother, i said to myself “that’s my boy!” after that he was sent to foster care, and atleast fed breafast, lunch, and dinner. If i lived the way that this little boy did, then i would already know that there was no god for me, and there never will be. But this little boy had faith, faith that god will make mother surrender. he still never gave up on praying, even though god did not answer. he still felt that there was “hope.” sooner or later, god did answer this one little hopeless boy. “All of these years of praying came to use.” said the boy. this is a boy who seeks for a mother’s love.
