Aloha and welcome!

I am an Instructional Technology Specialist for the elementary division of the Kamehameha Schools in Honolulu Hawaii.  Prior to joining the KSBE family I worked for many years as a history teacher and technology director at St. Louis School just a few miles away.   My current passions in the technology realm are Web 2.0 apps in education and Internet safety.

My goal this year is to feature a Web 2.0 application at least once a week.  It is my hope that teachers at my curent school, colleagues at my previous school and educators in Hawaii and beyond will use this page as a resource.  There are still so many teachers and school administrators out there who have no idea what web 2.0 is and how it can transform teaching and learning.   Kamehameha Schools is working to change that in Hawaii through its summer technology conference.  I hope this blog can take that spirit one step further and give ideas to teachers during the school year.

As you can tell from the picture above in addition to technology, one of my passions is history. :) Sometimes I wonder; what history will say about us in a thousand years?

If you’d like to talk tech please feel free to post here, email me at lyhoriuc@ksbe.edu,  or follow me on Twitter.  I look forward to talking with you in cyberspace.

Aloha,

Lynne
